Review:

Tim: I found this movie to be surprisingly good and entertaining. It connects with the audience on a number of levels, offering some interesting commentary on Hollywood and on making connections with people.

Adam Brody is extremely likeable. I really, really enjoyed watching him on screen. He has charisma, and very easily pulls you into his character. He has a few very funny moments, and I couldn't help myself but laugh. Meg Ryan was quite good in a smaller role. She is always enjoyable to watch, and I thoroughly liked seeing her here. Kristen Stewart also puts in a good performance. I also liked Olympia Dukakis in her hilarious role.

In the Land of Women easily could have been a weepy, ordinary rom-com with a side of drama. Instead, it is surprisingly dramatic, occasionally quite touching. It gives you something to think about- about the ways we connect with people and how it is those rare, small moments that can really change a life. This isn't a perfect movie, and it occasionally slips into the ordinary and the melodramatic. However, on the whole, this movie is quite good and I really did enjoy it.
