Review:

Tim: Scientifically, Innerspace is a pretty ridiculous movie. Although it is fascinating, most of the movie is pure fantasy and it is difficult to take it too seriously. Luckily, I don't necessarily rate movies based on scientific fact and realism alone.

Sure, the movie is pretty absurd, but it is a fun and enjoyable ride. Putting aside scientific impossibilities, this movie is very interesting to consider.

Dennis Quaid is excellent as a rebellious pilot who embarks on a dangerous journey inside the human body. Meg Ryan is equally great as his girlfriend and an instrumental part in the plot. Martin Short is very good as well and is given quite a few opportunities to be funny. I'm really not a fan of him, but he is pretty great here.

This film won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects- by 1987's standards, this was quite an achievement. It is still pretty interesting to watch, even if the special effects are not up to par any longer.

If you can manage to forget that the movie could never really happen (at least for the foreseeable future), then you'll find a really good sci fi comedy film. Innerspace is a fun movie.
