Summary: A psychic woman begins having horrible dreams of a psychopath after he kills her daughter.

Review:

Tim: This is a decent thriller. It keeps you guessing and has enough suspense to hold you in your seat, instead of running to the kitchen for a snack. Annette Bening gives a decent performance, although she isn't very convincing as a psychic (or as a woman with psychic abilities, either). She does play a good nutcase though, as you wonder whether her dreams are really coming from a killer, or if she really is losing her mind.

At times, the film has some strange camerawork, which actually makes the dreams... or the madness... more real. For example, a scene with apples is done with the camera darting back and forth quickly. The effect works.

In Dreams starts out rather boring, but suddenly gets thrilling and creepy. By the time Robert Downey, Jr appears on screen, I had forgotten he was even in the movie. He gives a chilling performance.

At times, this film is confusing and at others, frightening. It has a very good ending, however, and makes you think about what exactly telling the future does- can psychics change the future they see? Interesting stuff. However, this film isn't much better than ordinary.
