Review:

Tim: The Indiana Jones trilogy is the gold standard for the action/adventure genre, and this, the middle film, though decent, is the weakest in the trilogy. That is not to say this movie isn't good- it is incredibly entertaining and still better than most films in its genre.

The film's weakest aspect is Kate Capshaw. I understand she is supposed to provide a bit of comedic relief, but she is incredibly annoying. All she does is scream and complain in a whiny, annoying voice. I constantly want to punch her in the face.

Ke Huy Quan is amazing as Short Round. He and Harrison Ford have great chemistry together. This added a nice additional lighthearted quality to the film.

Despite its weaknesses, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom definitely has its memorable scenes. From the jump out of the pilotless airplane to an ancient sacrificial ritual, to a climactic battle aboard fast moving mining cars, the film is incredibly exciting and entertaining.

Indiana Jones is perhaps the greatest adventurer of all time and he has an incredible adventure on his hands here. Ford plays the character perfectly- he just gets him. He is a tough hero, but balances that with a flying-by-the-seat-of-his-pants, humorous side.

This is a very good film, and a classic adventure movie. Like all the Indiana Jones movies, this one is worth seeing again and again.
