Review:
Tim: The third installment is the best of the Indiana Jones movies. This film has Indiana searching for the mother of all treasures- the Holy Grail. He goes up against NAZIs, and brings his father along for the ride. This is one of the best adventure movies of all time.
While Harrison Ford gives another impressive performance as Indiana Jones, the real story of the film is not him, but his co-star. Sean Connery as Jones' father was a brilliant casting choice. He is perfect for the role. Harrison Ford and Connery have so much chemistry together that you almost believe they are related. Ford's screams of "Dad!" as he pulls his father from one deadly situation to the next are highlights of the film. The scene where they are both tied up in the chairs is hilarious.
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade boasts many memorable scenes- the plane battle between NAZIs and the Joneses, Indy taking on a tank while on horseback, and the three final tests before reaching the grail. As a bonus, we see Indiana as a boy, played brilliantly by River Phoenix.
This is the ideal action/adventure movie. Indiana Jones is the genre's greatest hero, and this is his best film. Steven Spielberg is perhaps the greatest director of all time, and this is another amazing film on his resume.
