Review:

Tim: I wasn't really expecting too much from I Love You, Beth Cooper. It looked like a completely stupid movie. However, I was not prepared for just how horrendous this movie would turn out to be. In my life, I have seen a lot of movies- and I mean a lot of movies. This was one of the most painful films I have ever had the displeasure of sitting through. This film was absolute torture- I felt physical pain trying to make my way through all 102 minutes (which isn't long, but it felt like eternity here). I have never been watching a movie where I checked to see how much time was left every five minutes, but this stinker made me do just that.

There is not a single redeeming quality about this entire movie. It is terrible from start to finish. It contains nothing but cliche-ridden, juvenile, ridiculous attempts at humor. This is not a funny movie by any stretch of the imagination. I don't often mention writers by name, but Larry Doyle's screenplay is absolute garbage, and director Chris Columbus makes it even worse. The dialogue is wooden and awful. The jokes have all been recycled from actual movies.

The cast is remarkably terrible. This was obviously a vehicle for Hayden Panettiere, but she is very ineffective in the role. She obviously relishes the chance to play a darker, rebellious teen, but her performance is disappointing. Her character is completely unbelievable, as her actions all seem out of character. Nothing regarding her character seems grounded in reality. Even worse than Panettiere is Paul Rust. Rust by himself could have single-handedly ruined the movie (if the rest of the movie wasn't horrible) with one of the worst performances I have ever seen. Rust is annoying and terrible. I hated his performance, and no matter what he does for the rest of his "career," I will never forgive him for this massive bomb.

I Love You, Beth Cooper is one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life. I tried desperately to find something worthwhile about this movie, but I simply could not. This is a horrible, worthless movie. I hated it.
