Review:

Tim: Hitman comes from the popular, violent video game of the same name. While movies based on video games are usually handicapped from the start, I felt like this movie was still quite enjoyable. It is not amazing by any means, but it gives us a good action hero in Agent 47, has an interesting plot, and enough action to keep us interested from start to finish. The movie has flaws, but far fewer than you might expect.

I wasn't sold on Timothy Olyphant as 47 when I first heard about the movie. Over the course of the film, however, he won me over. He gives a very strong performance. He had to be reserved throughout, and he pulls this off brilliantly. The rest of the cast leaves something to be desired. I did enjoy seeing Henry Ian Cusick in a small role. I'm a huge fan of him (from his days on Lost). Olga Kurylenko has a few decent moments, but she is also fairly annoying.

Hitman doesn't have the impressive pedigree of the Bourne movies, but it still has enough fire to keep us entertained. The story is a familiar one, and much of the movie was recycled from other films, but there is enough different about the main character to differentiate this film from similar ones. This isn't a great movie, but it does enough right to prevent any ill feelings toward it.
