Summary: The stories of several people in the Cayman Islands are told, and secrets, lies, and deception are revealed.

Review:

Tim: This is an absolutely awful, atrocious little movie. It tries to tell several stories, all loosely connected together regarding difficult situations in the Cayman Islands. It ends up being a mess—and even more unforgiveable—a boring mess.

The film headlines Orlando Bloom as the star, but this is grossly misleading. He has an equal amount of screen time with the rest of the fairly large cast. He is not particularly good or memorable, and more often than not, aggravates the audience. Bloom seems to have a knack for picking the right projects, but this one was a huge miss. He’s not enjoyable at all. Bill Paxton is decent, but this wasn’t his best role. His story is perhaps the film’s best, but it is still weak and mostly ineffective. I really like Stephen Dillane, but he was mostly unlikeable here.

Ultimately, Haven is just a boring movie masquerading around as a little “independent” film, trying to feel big and important. It is a waste of talent and of time. The Romeo and Juliet storyline will not impress, and neither will the sheer stupidity of almost every character we see. This is a dumb movie, and I don’t like myself for watching it.
