Review:
Tim: This was an excellent movie. While it does not have the blockbuster qualities and isn't terrific in any one sense, the whole movie works. Slater is excellent as the armored truck driver, and Freeman is tremendous as the leader of a band of thieves. Quaid gives a great performance as the local sheriff. The only character in the film I didn't like was the one played by Minnie Driver. I am not a big Minnie Driver fan at all, but I can say that in this film, I didn't hate her as much as usual.
The film features the camera shaking which creates an incredible effect. The storyline is very good, with many twists and turns. Also, the flooding and gunfights were beautifully filmed. Hard Rain is a nonstop action thrill ride. The film is great.
Hard Rain isn't spectacular in any single sense, but it combines to make a worthwhile movie. This film isn't the first choice on anyone's list, but if you are looking for an excellent action film, this one is worth taking.
