Review:

Tim: If the summary sounds stupid to you, that's probably because it is. The film is just downright stupid... and very, very funny. I myself am not a big pot smoker (never tried it, never will), but I found myself laughing hysterically at the numerous pot jokes throughout this movie. I want to make a quick observation for all of you: this movie is about pot. Whether you call it weed, pot, Mary Jane, grass, marijuana, or the thousand other names for the drug (and if you watch this film, you will learn them ALL), this movie bases almost ALL it's jokes on pot, and pot is the central theme of the pot... I mean, plot. If you can handle that, keep reading.

The film is actually very funny, though. Dave Chappelle is hilarious, and interacts well with the other supporting cast members. His TV show is so hilarious, and its worth seeing his earlier work. He is charasmatic and just plain funny. The supporting cast is decent, but none can come close to the ability and talent of Chappelle. One of the aspects of this film that makes it even funnier is the slew of cameos found throughout it. Pay attention, because the cameos add so much to this film, and account for some of the funniest scenes in the movie. I have to mention Bob Saget's cameo: his one line in the film is so incredibly funny that I would watch this film just to see him say that line (hint: it is the last thing you would ever expect Bob Saget to say). In addition, Jon Stewart is hilarious with his "have you ever tried watching TV... on weed?" routine. Don't miss these two cameos as well as the countless others.

Another aspect of this film is that it attempts to appeal to all ages of... people who like pot smoking jokes (?). There are jokes for the contemporary pot smokers, but also jokes for the old time pot smokers, who smoked pot in a day and age when they did not need to constantly look over their shoulders, worried about getting caught (watch the film to understand). It is difficult to explain, but its all in there.

I would be careful with this movie. If you don't want to watch a two hour marijuana joke, then I suggest you pass this film by. However, I do recommend you give it a chance, because it is actually quite funny. This film has all the regular comedy but with an interesting twist, basing all the jokes on marijuana. This is definitely a different type of comedy, and one that you will either love or hate. I have to warn the viewers many of you will think this movie is stupid- and it is, but many of you will also think it is simply funny as hell. I'm in the latter group.
