Review:
Tim: This is a hilarious comedy that works on nearly every level. Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon are perfect together. They have real chemistry, and this shows up in every second of every scene they have together. They are truly having fun on screen, and that translates into fun for the audience as well.
The movie is helped along by some incredibly humorous writing. The back-and-forth between Matthau and Lemmon is comedy gold, and will keep you laughing. If that isn't enough, Burgess Meredith has some very funny scenes as well. The supporting cast, especially Kevin Pollak and Daryl Hannah, add some stability to the picture.
There are so many comedies out there, and very few possess what this film possesses- yes, it is hilarious and original, but it also has heart. This movie will make you laugh, but it will also fill your heart, because at its core, it is a movie about friendship. A film like this doesn't come along every day.
