Summary: A mother (Jamie Lee Curtis) and daughter (Lindsay Lohan) who don't get along and can't understand each other magically swap places and switch bodies. This obviously causes both their lives to be interrupted as they are forced to work together to discover how or if they can ever change back.

Review:
Tim: I foolishly listened to critics applauding this film and the amount of money it generated, and allowed that information to convince me that maybe this wasn't such a bad movie. I gave it a try and predictably, I was disappointed.

I applaud Jamie Lee Curtis for trying something a little different and acting like a 15 year old throughout most of this film. She did a decent job and the "I'm like the cryptkeeper!!" line is pretty funny. I was a little less pleased with Lindsay Lohan's performance. People were hailing her like she's this incredible young actress. Perhaps that may be true, but from this film, I thought she did a terrible job. I blame the material she had to work with for most of it, but she wasn't very impressive at all.

This probably appeals much more to young girls, but I thought it was ridiculous how Lohan's character was portrayed. It was a combination of her performance and the part itself, but it very annoying to watch and utterly unenjoyable.

This film, though I realize its intended for a younger audience is unbelievably predictable and not even that fun. The best part of the movie is Lohan's younger brother. My favorite scenes are the ones involving him, especially where he expresses his concern over "bullies." I also thought the scene where Lohan, in Curtis' body, reads her brother's school project about why he loves his sister was quite touching. However, the good scenes are too few and far between to amount to anything worthwhile.

Now, I will admit it must have been difficult for Curtis and Lohan to play two different roles in the film, themselves and then each other. I applaud them, because they did make the transition pretty well. However, I personally found this movie boring, slow, and I couldn't wait for it to be over. Maybe if I was a preteen I'd like it, but as I'm not, I think it stinks.
