Review:
Tim: This movie is completely terrible. It just goes to show you how important a script is when making a movie. In How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Matthew McConaughy and Kate Hudson have chemistry and work well together. Here, they look completely uncomfortable, have no chemistry at all, and don't work well together on screen. This is just one of dozens of flaws in this film.

McConaughy plays a complete moron. His character is so stupid that it becomes impossible for you to root for him. I just wanted to slap his face the entire movie. He plays bumbling well, but this role wasn't endearing at all- it was idiotic. Hudson's acting is pathetic throughout the entire movie. She was very annoying, and I didn't like her at all. The worst scenes are pretty much every second of shared screen time between McConaughy and Hudson. Thankfully, Donald Sutherland is on hand. He gives the only good performance of the film.

I am usually a big fan of these romantic adventure movies. This film is one of the worst I have ever seen in this genre. The action is decent, but incredibly implausible. The jokes almost fall 100% flat. I can't imagine how anyone would look at this movie as funny. I already mentioned the complete lack of chemistry between our stars. There are almost no redeeming qualities to this movie at all.

Fool's Gold is a pathetic, halfhearted attempt at a movie. Not to be too crass, but the movie sucks. There is no way around it. I hated this idiotic movie. It does nothing very well, although there are a few lukewarm moments throughout it. There are no characters you can really root for, and there isn't much excitement or drama. Everything is jaded by the utter silliness of the whole movie. I can't say enough words about the awfulness of this bomb.
