Summary: A brilliant scientist (Jeff Goldblum) tries to impress a beautiful reporter (Geena Davis) by showing her his invention- a teleportation device. However, when he teleports himself, a simply fly accidentally lands in the device. His DNA is fused with that of the fly, and he begins to transform into something horrible.

Review:
Tim: This horror film stands up as a freakishly horrific entry into the horror/science fiction genre. This movie is scary because Jeff Goldblum gives a remarkable performance- he starts out so excited and full of potential. This gives way to a growing sense of dread and fear as he turns from a brilliant scientist into a disgusting, godforsaken monster. This process is absolutely terrifying to watch. I highly recommend not eating anything while you are watching this movie- if you don't get sick to your stomach, I would be impressed.

Jeff Goldblum gives a performance that rivals any of the early 80s. His transformation is so believable and so scary and this all comes from the incredible performance he gives. You really need to see him. Geena Davis is generally decent, but not spectacular. She does have a good amount of chemistry with Goldblum. These two do play off each other quite well.

The Fly is a terrifying, unforgettable event. I highly recommend it, even though it is quite disturbing and occasionally sickening. It is a unique, remarkable movie.
