Summary: After a plane crash in the middle of the Sahara desert, the survivors realize their fate is pretty well sealed. That is, until a mysterious passenger (Hardy Kruger) on the plane proposes and ingenius and borderline ridiculous plan- to build a new aircraft out of the wreckage of the old one. Despite the disbelief of the plane's pilot (James Stewart), the survivors enter a race against time to finish their craft and fly to safety.

Review:
Tim: This is not necessarily one of Jimmy Stewart's most popular movies, but it is still a pretty incredible action/adventure movie. There is a lot of down time, however, when very little (besides character development) actually happens.

The story is pretty clever and is sure to keep you interested. The cast is all top notch. Stewart does a good job in the lead role. He is slightly darker than he is in many of his usual roles. The supporting cast is all incredible.

It is important to note that for the time when this film come out, it was a fairly impressive motion picture. The film works hard to show the adversity the survivors of the plane crash had to overcome. The movie will keep you entertained as the characters try to pull off an incredible stunt while they are struggling to survive. The survival aspect is the film's strongest and the driving force behind the drama and suspense.

The Flight of the Phoenix is a worthwhile movie to see, as is anything with Jimmy Stewart. It is a rousing adventure story that will stay with you long after you finish watching.
