Summary: An Iowa farmer (Kevin Costner) hears a mysterious voice in his cornfield that says, "If you build it, he will come..." Caught up in something he can't explain, he plows over his crops to build a baseball stadium. After the Chicago Black Sox appear and begin playing on the field, it becomes clear that something magical and amazing is happening in Iowa.

Review:
Tim: Field of Dreams probably has more magic and imagination than any Hollywood film out there. Movies like this are not made nearly enough. Not only is it a baseball classic, but a film about redemption, love, and believing in something bigger than yourself.

Kevin Costner is perfect as an everyman hero, swept up in something he can't quite fully explain. Has he ever had more charm than in this role? He will forever be remembered for this movie, and I'll stand by him as an actor forever because of this film.

James Earl Jones is remarkable as Terrence Mann. This is the perfect role for him and he plays it energetically and in memorable fashion. Ray Liotta is great as Shoeless Joe Jackson. It is the warmest and most enjoyable performance of his career. Amy Madigan is a firecracker. Her, "You NAZI cow" line is hilarious. She and Costner work very well together.

Who can forget the tingle that runs down your spine when you hear: "If you build it, he will come." Classic.

Field of Dreams is a feel good movie that will make you contemplate life, relationships, and baseball.
