Summary: Two marines are charged with killing another, although they proclaim they are innocent because they were simply following orders. Navy Officer Daniel Kaffee, an intelligent but inexperienced lawyer is assigned to the case. He reluctantly partners with a more experienced lawyer (Demi Moore), who was passed up for the assignment. As the lawyers desperately try to uncover the truth, then find themselves at odds against a very powerful Colonel Jessup (Jack Nicholson) who resents the very existence of their investigation.

Review:
Tim: This is about as close to perfect as a movie can get without quite making it into that realm. It is based on a successful play, so you know the film is character-driven and has a strong story. Director Rob Reiner even improves on the play, and directs a masterpiece, balancing all of his components flawlessly.

The real success of the film depends on the cast and Reiner has assembled a dream team of fine actors. Tom Cruise leads the bunch with one of his best performances to date. He embodies the young, hotshit lawyer brilliantly, even carrying off the hint of father-son issues he has with his dad. His character is memorable and extremely likeable. His sense of humor and witty one-liners are a source of constant amusement. Jack Nicholson adds a fiery, tough performance as one of the most enjoyable characters to watch on screen. He and Cruise sizzle in the climactic "You can't handle the truth!" scene (one of the greatest of all time).

Demi Moore adds an emotional and surprisingly dimensional performance. She and Cruise have sparks, but not for the reason you'd think. Kevin Pollack is incredible in his supporting role. The rest of the cast is excellent as well, including J.T. Walsh, Keifer Sutherland, and very small roles by Noah Wyle and Cuba Gooding, Jr.

A Few Good Men is an emotional, intense film that stays with you. The movie is powerful and amazing. Enjoy it.
