Review:
Tim: Far From Heaven is actually a pretty boring movie. It is interesting to see how issues like homosexuality and interracial relationships affected people in the 1950s- definitely in a different way than today.

The best part of the movie are the performances of Dennis Quaid and Julianne Moore. Moore is remarkable. Her performance carries the film and commands all our attention. Quaid's performance has been called one of the best of his career. I don't really agree with this statement and think his performance is somewhat overrated. I'm a huge fan of his, though, and he is decent enough to be enjoyable in the part.

The drama in the film is pretty decent. It evokes a great deal of emotion. Quite a few scenes are actually difficult to watch- either because the scenes deal with uncomfortable issues or because they are so powerfully moving.

I was actually pretty disappointed in this movie. Although it is finely acted and actually serves as a decent character and timepiece study, the movie don't hold together. This movie is far from perfect, and you will be bored.
