Review:
Tim: I had been waiting to see this movie for over 10 years. Growing up, I loved reading "Fantastic Four" comic books. Leading up to the film, I was incredibly nervous yet strongly optimistic. I had total faith in Marvel. Fantastic Four turned out to be everything I thought it would be. I know the film received some negative reviews from critics and hardcore FF fans. I am amazed that they didn't love it- the movie has so much action, comedy, and is one of the great feel-good movies of the year.

I thoroughly believe Marvel has geniuses in their casting ranks. When I first heard the cast, I was a little skeptical, but I still had faith. Ioan Gruffudd is good as Reed Richards. He embodies the character well, and I look forward to his growth in the role in the film's sequels. Jessica Alba is very good as Sue Storm, although she's an unconventional (but excellent choice). Chris Evans is the most genius casting choice of them all. He is hilarious, charismatic, and steals every scene he is in. He is just so incredibly fun to watch on screen. He brings energy and charisma to the role. Michael Chiklis also defies expectations and looks amazing as The Thing. Julian McMahon is brilliantly cast as Victor Von Doom.

The special effects might not be revolutionary, but they're pretty impressive. The Human Torch looks absolutely amazing. The Thing is perfect. Mr. Fantastic's stretching ability is the weakest aspect of the film. The special effects just look cheap here.

I love this movie. I admit the movie is far from perfect, but it has heart. It also captures the spirit of the Fantastic Four. There are some great moments, especially Evans' "Flame on!" and McMahon's "After all, we're both doctors." I still get chills watching the birth of one of the greatest villains in comic book history.

Fantastic Four is a fun, fun ride. I completely recommend it and no matter what, you should thoroughly enjoy yourself.
