Review:

Tim: I was somewhat exciting about seeing this movie. It took me several years to finally get around to it, because although it looked good, I always found something that looked better. I was pretty excited because I always love seeing two big name stars on the screen together. Sean Connery is one of the best actors in Hollywood, and paired with fiery Catherine Zeta-Jones, it seemed like a match made in paradise. He had the old suaveness, she has exciting younger zest. However, they have absolutely no chemistry on screen at all. At times it was honestly painful to watch them together. Sometimes pairing of two big names works... sometimes it does not. This was a failed attempt. I actually blame Zeta-Jones rather than Connery. There is just something about her portrayal of her character that did not fit.

Other than that, this is a pretty good crime caper movie. It is intense and quite exciting. Entrapment also sports a very good supporting cast, with Rhames and Patton. Unfortunately, any action or excitement the film might have is spoiled by the lack of chemistry between the two big stars. The film itself is decent enough. It's telling that the most memorable scene from the trailers involves Zeta-Jones sliding seductively under some laser beams (high art this ain't).

However, in the end, all the seductive slides and heart-beating caper scenes can not make up for the problems the cast faces. I guess this film is decent enough, but it could have been better.
