Summary: A television station decides to pick one person, and film their life live for 24 hours a day. The lucky winner is Ed (Matthew McConaughey). At first, the show is a bit slow, but when Ed finds his brother (Woody Harrelson) cheating on his girlfriend (Jenna Elfman), Ed goes to comfort her and try to win her back for his brother, but in the process, the two's own feelings for each other come out. Now, Ed is a national celebrity, but has no privacy at all. Soon he realizes that perhaps filming his life is not such a good idea, but by this time, he is trapped, and will have to find a way to get out.

Review:

Tim: EDtv is a fun, exciting film. Matthew McConaughey is perfect as Ed Perkurny. He is charming, funny as hell, and incredibly likeable. He alone makes the movie worthwhile, but luckily, the film has much more to offer. Jenna Elfman is fabulous as well, making you fall in love with her. Besides the two main stars, the film has an incredible supporting cast, led by Woody Harrelson, who gives a great performance.

This film takes an interesting look at popularity, the media, fame, and the consequences of becoming a star. This film has something for all viewers, who will enjoy the excellent acting all around, the hilarious plot, and the touching romance in the film.

If you saw The Truman Show, it is important to note this film is significantly better. If it ever comes down to deciding between the two, please, please, please: choose this film. EDtv is what going to the movies is all about: pure fun, yet in all the entertainment, you manage to learn something, and hopefully, are able to apply it to your own life. This film is incredibly interesting: ask yourself this question while watching it- is Ed really a loser, or his he something more?

I definitely recommend this movie. It is incredible, and I truly enjoyed watching this film. It is important to note that while I give the film an 8, I struggled greatly with giving it an 8.5. I just want it to be said that while I give it an 8, I think more highly of it than that. I think you will, too.
