Review:
Tim: The first thing that comes to mind when I think about this film is... "WHY?????????????" Why on earth would you want to make or watch a film about small town beauty pageant contestants dying? Why? I honestly cannot fathom why anyone would think this is a winning idea to film, or why anyone would want to pick it up to watch. The only thing I can imagine is someone might think the movie is funny. I'll save you some suspense... its not.
Please don't be lured in by the good cast. Kirsten Dunst by far gives the best performance, but it is not one that you'd regret missing. Kristie Alley and Denise Richards as a mother and daughter give laughable (in a bad way) performances, and the rest of the cast isn't that spectacular, either. Don't be fooled by the names. This film is not worth your time.
Even worse is the plot. None of the events seem to really matter at all. It feels at times like the films tries hard with a few jokes, and the other 95% of the film is simply filler. It is ridiculous, unrealistic, and unfunny. This is a stupid film with a stupid plot and should be avoided by all costs.
If I absolutely was forced with a gun to my head to pick one redeeming quality of this film, I would focus on the performance of Dunst. Everything else is easily forgettable (thankfully, so I can get this movie out of my head). Unless you like really dumb movies, pass this one by.
