Review:

Tim: This is a film that says, "I'm completely ridiculous, so just sit back and enjoy!" I love it for its honesty. This is an incredibly funny and lighthearted movie that just wants to have fun and entertain.

Dan Aykroyd is side-splittingly funny as Joe Friday. Except for The Blues Brothers, this may be my favorite role of his. He steals the entire movie by his every humorous move. Tom Hanks is the perfect partner for him, and perfects his goofy, loveable, jokester image. I really like the pairing of Hanks and Aykroyd. They make an incredible team and are very fun to watch together.

The film's plot is uber-ridiculous, but none of that really matters. The dialogue is pretty good, and there are a number of scenes so funny, you will not be able to prevent yourself from laughing out loud.

The "Dragnet" TV series is such a classic, from the unforgettable opening music and Friday's "Just the facts, please." It is very good to see it updated, with a healthy balance between action and comedy. I wish this movie had been better received critcally, because I would have loved to see a sequel.

Dragnet is worth watching because Aykroyd and Hanks make a hilarious team and this movie is much better than people give it credit. This is a movie that know it is ridiculous and has fun with that- and you will, too.
