Review:

Tim: Dirty Pretty Things is a critically acclaimed thriller. I didn't really enjoy it too much, though. The acting is all top notch, but the film just wasn't very thrilling to me at all.

I like the idea of a film about an honest pair of people dealing with a brush with the black market (specifically illegal organ selling). However, for a film that is supposed to be a thriller, this movie wasn't intense or engrossing in the least.

I might just have a problem with director Stephen Frears. Another well received film of his, The Grifters never really sat well with me and I couldn't bring myself to like it while many others did. Perhaps it is just me, after all?

As I mentioned earlier, the cast is pretty good. Audrey Tautou is very good, but she is eclipsed by the amazing performance of Chiwetel Ejiofor. He gives the best performance of the movie and keeps us interested in him. I hope to see more of his work in the future.

Dirty Pretty Things is at least a watchable movie. You might not be totally into the film, but you still want to stick around to see what happens.
