Review:

Tim: This is a very interesting Bond movie. For most of the film, Bond is just chasing down some diamonds and trying to stay alive from those who want him dead. Then, as the plot opens up, it falls on Bond to once again save the world.

After a one film absence, Sean Connery is back in the role he was born to play. No one can do it better and he will always be the best Bond.

This film will always have a special place in my heart, simply because it is the last true Connery-as-007 movie (obviously not counting Never Say Never Again).

This film has some great moments. Bond's escape in a moon rover is pretty amazing. The car chase scene through downtown Las Vegas is classic, as is Bond's battle with Bambi and Thumper.

Diamonds are Forever is a bit slower paced than many Bond films, although there is a good amount of action at the end. Speaking of the fim's conclusion on the oil rig, it is slightly unimpressive. The battle was scaled back for budget reasons, and that really shows on the screen.

Despite its flaws, Diamonds are Forever is a good entry into the Bond franchise. It will sorely miss Connery, but 007 will continue.
