Review:
Tim: This is actually a good movie. I really liked it a lot. Kevin Kline is excellent in the film, both as Dave and as the president. It was important to make sure both characters, though they resemble each other, have their own distinct and different personalities. This isn't too easy of a feat and Kline pulled it off wonderfully.
The main question when dealing with a presidental romantic comedy has to be, "Is there enough excitment to keep me entertained?" Very few people like watching CSPAN for extended periods of time (I am one of the few), and you don't want your movie comparable to that. I am happy to say that there is enough excitment in this movie to keep you entertained from start to finish. Also, the cast for this film is excellent, with good performances all around. There are a number of cameos as well.
Ultimately, the film does tend to drag on a little too long and some scenes are a little too drawn out for their own good. You will still enjoy the film, I believe. I definitely recommend taking a chance with this film. However, you should note that this film is not as good as the best presidental romantic/comedy, which is obviously The American President.
