Review:

Tim: Great, great, great. This movie has an absolutely great cast, is about a contemporary and important topic like racism, and offers to both entertain and educate its audience. This is a powerful and moving film, and dare I say, a must-see. It will do you good to see it.

The cast is excellent. With films like this and Hotel Rwanda, Don Cheadle is really impressing the hell out of me. I love Sandra Bullock in her role because its so unlike the roles she almost always plays. She shines in her mean, selfish character. Matt Dillon is excellent as well, as he really pulls a wide range of emotions out of us. Ludacris really surprised me, as I had no idea he could be this good of an actor. I actually like Ryan Phillippe better here than in any film since Cruel Intentions. 2005 will be remembered as Terence Howard's breakthrough year, and this movie is huge cause of that.

I like movies that put up a large, ensemble cast that at first looks completely isolated and different, and then, over the course of the movie, pulls them all together to reveal how interconnected everybody is.

Crash is a timely, beautiful film that offers some hope in looking at an ugly issue that pervades every city in America, as well as the world. Please see this movie and recommend it to your friends.
