Summary: A young rookie cop (Mark Wahlberg) joins a police division centered in Chinatown, and teams up with an experienced veteran (Chow Yun-Fat). The two try to take down some of the worst criminals in Chinatown, however, there may be more to the story than it seems. Corruption and betrayal mount, and the two cops begin to wonder if they can even trust each other.

Review:

Tim: In many ways, this is your typical Chinese-American action film, discussing briefly the relationship between American and Chinese relations, and then getting to the action. Its been done before, by the likes of many, including Jackie Chan and Jet Li.

Besides the lack of original material, I do want to point out that this film made me realize one thing- Chow Yun-Fat is a badass. I knew he was great, having seen such films as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, but I never knew his potential until I saw him here, plainly dressed as a policeofficer, kicking ass.

The movie itself is actually full of excitment and does not let up. The chemistry between Yun-Fat and Wahlberg is actually excellent. They really make a good team together on screen. Who knew that Mark Wahlberg could actually be such a good actor? Oh yeah, this film also shows Wahlberg's ability to be a badass.

The Corruptor is an action film that has changing alliances, crooked cops, and many twists and turns. This film keeps it quite exciting, and will satisfy that action urge you're feeling.
