Summary: Ellie Arroway (Jodie Foster) has spent her entire life looking for signals from another planet. Working at S.E.T.I.(Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) has been almost career suicide. However, when she finally does discover a signal coming from the planet Vega, it unleashes widespread curiosity, fear, and excitement. The alien signal is soon translated, and it is discovered that the signal sent blueprints to build some sort of transport device. Among speculation, the device is build, and a major debate goes on to decide who should go. Among the candidates are Dr. Arroway, as well as a glory seeking superior of hers (Tom Skerritt). As Dr. Arroway gets closer to getting the seat, she faces friction with a former flame, Palmer Joss (Matthew McConaughey), a governmental religious advisor.

Review:

Tim: Contact is a superb movie. Jodie Foster and Matthew McConaughey are incredible actors, and bring so much to this film. Tom Skerritt is great, and really makes you hate him. Robert Zemeckis makes a very profound and interesting film, and adds in amazing special effects. Contact is a very intense movie, one that will leave you feeling satisfied, yet leave you with many questions.

With Contact, you do indeed take a journey- not only to the edge of the universe, but into the our own humanity. This movie is a bit long, but every second is needed to paint the picture of this amazing story. Movies like this don't come along every day, in fact, rarely ever. Contact is indeed an incredible journey, one that you can be a part of. I very much recommend this movie.
