Review:

Tim: I found Cold Creek Manor to be a pretty decent thriller. The film isn't too intense or scary, but that's okay. There was one or two scenes that made you just, but the rest of the film is just your average, decent suspense thriller.

Deniis Quaid is not bad in the film. His character is actually a pretty cool guy. I like him being a documentary filmmaker/historian and a father. I wish he had more screen time and we got the opportunity to learn more about him. Sharon Stone isn't very good at all. I'm not a big fan of her, and performances like this only furthers those feelings. Her career has become rather pathetic as of late. Her performance here is one-dimensional and easily forgettable. Stephen Dorff is charismatically creepy. He is excellent and you can't take your eyes off of him as he seethes in anger and borderline lunacy.

Quaid's character's family is the most enjoyable part of the movie. It is imperative we like and identify with them, and we certainly do. The movie is somewhat creepy and entertaining. There are several memorable scenes- the horse in the swimming pool, the snakes, the Devil's throat, and a few more. These make the film more watchable.

While Cold Creek Manor isn't great, it is a modestly good film that you'll enjoy to some extent.
