Review:

Tim: What is amazing is that this espionage thriller starts out by telling you exactly how it is going to end, and then proceeds to heap on so much suspense and so many thrills that you never feel disappointed that you already know the ending. How exactly this works I may never fully know. What I do know is that this is an intelligent film with an incredible cast.

Chris Cooper is fantastic as the traitorous agent. He has proven time and time again that he is one of our best actors, and he only furthers that belief here. He gives a complicated, powerful performance. Equally as good is Ryan Phillippe, who gives off vibes of being both very competent and in over his head. His performance makes us care about the film. The best scenes are the ones where these two men interact. Laura Linney has far too little to do here and is just underutilized. The rest of the supporting cast is fairly solid.

This movie is incredibly well paced. It never feels rushed, instead moving along at a good pace, keeping us in a constant state of suspense. There are some incredible nail biting scenes, and the chemistry and tension between Cooper and Phillippe really makes this movie worthwhile.

Breach is a solid, entertaining film that features several great performances from its cast. This is a great espionage thriller, made even better because its based on a true story. The plot is pretty amazing, and the film delivers on every level. I really enjoyed this movie.
