Review:
Tim: Bottle Rocket isn't so good in itself- it isn't particularly funny or entertaining. Yes, there are humorous scenes now and again, but nothing superb in the least.
The only reason to watch this movie is because of its significance- it introduced the acting talents of Owen and Luke Wilson to the world. I really enjoy both those actors (and always have) and it is great to see the brothers together on screen.
Fans of criminal films might enjoy this movie to some extent because it just have the worst criminals ever known to man. The big job at the end is so painfully embarrassing that it borders on difficult to watch.
I was pretty disappointed that the film wasn't better. It just wasn't that enjoyable to watch. I couldn't wait for it to be over, and only smiled a few times (and laughed maybe once). I am starting to wonder if something is wrong with me, because I'm just not that big of a fan of Director Wes Anderson. This film generally received good reviews by critics, but I simply don't like it. That is true for another Anderson film, The Royal Tennenbaums. Perhaps it is just me.
Luke and Owen Wilson do a good job in their performances. They themselves are quite enjoyable to watch- its just that the movie is not.
