Review:

Tim: This is a wonderfully heartwarming tale. Tom Hanks used to the master of comedies, and this ranks among his best. It is a brilliant fantasy that makes us want to be kids again (which is funny because the character is exactly the opposite way).

Though the film might be somewhat difficult to believe, it is still so fun to watch Hanks interact and succeed in the adult world simply because of his innocence and youth. These are the most enjoyable moments of the film. Sure, we have to suspend our disbelief, but it is worth it.

Hanks is the reason this movie works. He perfectly plays an adult who is really a child in his Academy Award nominated role. His facial expressions and actions make us believe in him and in the story. Enough can't be said of his performance.

Elizabeth Perkins is actually very good as well. She interacts well with Hanks and is oftentimes incredible. I really like the supporting performance of Robert Loggia. He is fortunate enough to take part in the film's most memorable scene- the duet on the keyboard in FAO Schwartz. He and Hanks are brilliant in this amazing scene. It must have taken a lot of effort to get that scene perfect, but it is worth it.
Big is a classic film for all ages. It represents the best of Hank's 80s comedies- you will love this film.
