Review:

Tim: Rob Schneider, David Spade, and Jon Heder. Let me repeat that- Schneider, Spade, and Heder. Actually, we can even take Heder out since he was pretty funny in Napoleon Dynamite. You going to bring me a film with Schneider and Spade starring, and I can guarantee a trainwreck. Even giving this film a chance, I couldn't help but be bitter disappointed. The humor is so juvenile that I bet even some preteens would scuff at the utter ridiculousness of what is supposed to pass for humor in this piece.

The general concept is fine, but the film takes every short cut in the book. Instead of trying to be clever, the film recycles old jokes and stupid ideas. I might have laughed once or twice, but those moments were blocked out by the rampant stupidity of the film.

Schneider is supposed to be the "cool" one of the group. Read that again. That statement sums up the absurd magnitude of the entire film. Spade is disgustingly unfunny, and detracts value from the movie. Heder adds very little, and deserves to be slapped for the scenes where he picks his nose and eats it. Are you kidding me? Suprisingly, Jon Lovitz gets the most laughs, but that probably comes from experience.

The Benchwarmers is a terrible movie. I am all for gross-out humor, but not like this. This is a pathetic and lackluster attempt and I'm so mad I saw this movie.
