Review:

Tim: I sat down to watch this movie for the sole purpose of hating it and completely ripping it to shreds (sounds weird, but I am in the movie reviewing business, so its something I do). I also should mention that as a guy, I do love action movies. But, besides that, I have to hate this film, right!?! I mean, look at the title- Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever! Are you kidding me??

I had even more reason to not like this film because the storyline is some ridiculous tale about a kidnapped kid that has been injected with something. It was all very confusing and I paid little attention to the specific details. The plot actually matters very little here. This movie is all about action. I should hate it, right? Wrong. The film grabs ahold of you and you can't help but getting involved in it. Sure, the storyline is horrible, but it makes you curious to find out whats happening. The title itself is misleading, because through most of the movie, Ecks (Banderas) and Sever (Liu) actually work together.

Despite the many flaws in this film, I was actually entertained throughout the entire movie. That may be because I love action films, but all the same, I was entertained. The fight scenes move at a quick pace. Lucy Liu has some great fight scenes (and some terrible acting) and Banderas manages to perform some pretty cool stunts. All in all, I can't say this is a good movie, but it surprised me by not being as bad as I'd imagined. I wish I could give this a lower rating, but in good conscience, I just can't.
