Review:

Tim: I was actually pretty excited about seeing this movie. It looked very funny and I heard good things about it. The movie starts out fairly strong, accounting for some pretty good laughs. However, the movie starts to stray a bit, and ultimately, becomes a disappointment. The film certainly has a few good moments, but as a whole, I didn't like it much.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are good together. They have a certain amount of chemistry, and really embody the exact opposites of their characters. They are both believable in their respective roles. As I mentioned, there are a few hilarious moments. My favorite has to be the one about the olive oil (I won't say the rest of the line, but I loved it). Sadly, the funny moments are completely overwhelmed by the unfunny ones.

The supporting cast is fairly strong. I really liked Greg Kinnear in his role. Sigourney Weaver didn't add too much. Dax Shepard was annoying as usual, but he's been far worse in other films. Steve Martin further tarnished the illusion of his talent. He is just plain stupid in the movie.

This movie is certainly not the first kind of movie I think about when I am interested in seeing a film. However, I was really looking forward to it, and entered the movie with no prejudices or grudges toward it. I gave this movie every opportunity to entertain me, to impress me, or even to somewhat satisfy me. Baby Mama is completely a disappointment, and although it had the potential to be great, it's actually less than decent.
