Review:

Tim: Martin Scorsese directs a brilliant biopic of Howard Hughes. Hughes was a fascinating human being, and his life story is told in remarkable fashion.

I still dislike Leonardo DiCaprio, but the guy is an amazing actor. He is gives a truly inspired performance as Hughes in all moments of his life- the ones of pure genius as well as the ones of mental instability.

The supporting cast is incredible. Cate Blanchett is perfect as Katherine Hepburn in an Academy Award winning role. Scorsese knows how to utilize the supporting cast and this is one of his biggest and most talented.

Hughes' life is told completely- from his aviation advances to his movies, to his testimony before a government inquiry board. Everything is large, sweeping, and magnificient to see. I am actually a little surprised that this film did not win the Oscar for Best Picture. Perhaps it is due to the Academy's seemingly constant negligence in honoring Scorsese. I thought it should have one.

Regardless, The Aviator is an incredible movie that will greatly, greatly impress you.
