Review:

Tim: This is a wonderfully charming film that succeeds because the charisma of Audrey Tautou. She is absolutely incredible and breathtaking in the role, and it was so good that it made me an instant fan of hers. This is a feel-good movie and anyone who never really gets into foreign language films can start with this one. It's appeal will make you seriously consider broadening your horizons.

This film is wonderful because Tautou's character is complex and interesting. She had a strange childhood (told in hilarious detail) and it explains why she is the way she is. Amelie decides to embark on a good-deed mission, which always results in unexpected and oftentimes touching results. I know that you are probably used to watching movies about serial killers or good guys killing bad guys. Take a break from all of that and watch this movie. This is the kind of film that allows you to wash your palate and cleanse yourself from all the filth that has built up from watching crap movies. Admit it, you could use an uplifting, beautiful movie.

Tautou showcases her brilliant acting skills in a critically acclaimed and original movie. This might never be on the top of your "must-see" list, but you should give it a chance because it is wholly worth it.
