Review:

Tim: This is one of the most terrible films I've ever seen. I remember first hearing about the project and how excited I was about it. I remember trying to ignore the criticism I heard and just focus on the movie. I recall going to see the film and the utter disappointment I felt when I finally left the theater. Director Oliver Stone should be charged with a crime, the way he tarnishes the legend of an incredible human being like Alexander the Great.

Colin Farrell, besides being miscast and looking like crap throughout the film, gives an incredibly poor performance. I remember seeing American Outlaws and knowing Farrell was going to be huge way before he became a household name. This film represents the last straw, and my movement into near-total disgust for him. Angelina Jolie is terrible. Val Kilmer has a few decent moments, but is otherwise annoying. Anthony Hopkins is completely wasted, and I am sure he regrets this role.

Alexander should and could have been a monumental epic in the vein of Gladiator or Lawrence of Arabia. Instead, it is an underwhelming pile of crap that stains the reputations of everyone involved. Scenes that are supposed to be exciting end up being lackluster. It says a lot that a group of people could take an amazing human being like Alexander, who lived an incredible life, and make him look like a bumbling moron that inspires laughs more than anything.
